So the season for littlest of all the clubs members came to an end with the Cheshire under 7s Festival at Bowdon on Sunday. We took 2 teams of 5 who were put into separate groups with 4 other teams in each group. Playing all the other teams once, both our teams managed to win every game, which is pretty consistent with the whole season having not lost one single fixture all season.
The festival was played under the RFU core values of what are... errrm, I forget, but what I can tell you is it doesn't consist of is winning or losing which put a swift end to me and Petto's team talks. Anyway we picked up one trophy for teamwork and one for enjoyment to which one of little guys started crying for not having the award for himself..... irony hey. All teams taking part did get an award, apart from, funny enough, one Wirral team and one Birkenhead Park team, which I am sure was a purely accidental oversight, as it is only (so I have to keep reminding myself) the kids who miss out. All in all it was a fantastic day to finish what has been an amazing and quite surprisingly enjoyable season.
Myself and Petto have been extremely lucky to have such a talented squad of players and the parents are quite nice too. Speaking on behalf of us both, we would like to thank everyone invloved and all the support we have had over the season.
So here is to Joseph H, Joseph P, Louis D, Johnny, Seb, Ted, Ethan, Ronan, Ollie, Jack, Matty, Harriet, Louis R, Bertie, Lydene, Freddie, Sam and George. See you all in September.
Come on the Annies
