WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!

The whole club would have been proud of these 15 boys today. I wish that more Anselmians could have been present today, our esteemed Director of Rugby, our partners AFYA and even members of our 1st XV could have learnt something today - Anselmians your U10s were brilliant today!

The boys are developing a genuine “style” of play and all worked tirelessly to help out their mates. The sense of team-work that the lads demonstrated today was brilliant. The fact that we beat Northwich by plenty is not even important (maybe a little bit) but the coaches and parents were so impressed by the way the boys won the ball at the ruck and then sent the “flyers” down the wings.

We won nearly every ruck and our defence was superb, our link up play was first class and are beginning to understand the roles that we all have within a rugby team. Literally EVERYONE showed up today!

The Management team, the parents and other spectators could not have been prouder today! It was so difficult to single out individuals today and that is because - like all great rugby players - a lot of work was done by those not getting the glory of scoring tries. I might have mentioned this before but all the boys were awesome! Well done to (in alphabetical order) Toby Anderson, Oliver Arnold, Sam Blair, Sam Booth, William Gavin-Cooper, Oscar Edmunds, William Fildes, Max Frodsham, Eroll Gilgeours , Zack Gray, Conor Grealis, Ben Griffiths, Luke Murphy, William O’Halloran, Jasper Richards, Josh Rose - you were brill!!

It was very difficult to choose an individual today for the Man of the Match - there could have been 15 - but with two fantastic tries and some great defensive efforts it was our new-comer Alex Byrne who took home the trophy, well done Alex, top, top effort!
