The third team had a friendly at home to Parkonians third team, Nev Pickard announced before the match that he had 14 forwards and three backs in his squad, officer of the day Mike Rogers said “Perfect just my sort of rugby who needs backs”. He was proved right as the forwards ran in six of the team’s eight tries, Mike Stormes the only back to get in on the act with a well taken brace. Duncan Hendry making his first appearance of the season seemed to be enjoying himself as he helped himself to a hat trick, there were singles for Daragh Corbett, Steve Williams & Tim Woodward with Ryan Williams converting three of the tries to give a final score of 46 – 3. Even though the team was a bit top heavy with forwards there was some fine ball distribution especially from out half Pickard and inside centre P.Collins.
