If the Ducks get relegated this season, it won’t be from the lack of effort displayed by the Boys yesterday or indeed last week. We find ourselves fourth from bottom with some difficult games coming up, we are at the highest level we’ve played at and if we could pull a side out every week we would be able to compete with the majority of sides in the Division.
With more than TWENTY FIVE people declaring themselves unavailable this week, it amazes we actually got a side out, it amazed me even more though that we gave a decent Widnes side a game.
Wellsy off his sick bed and Toby playing again after being retired three seasons with dodgy knees isn’t the greatest idea but CLUBMEM as they are they’ll put their hands up if they have too.
Everyone battled yesterday, no ones head dropped, even when things didn’t work but we were beaten by a better team on the day. Our resident Duck of the Day Nath was his usual nuisance best, Gilly tackled and carried and carried and tackled himself to a near standstill, Edgy was always available looking to get involved. Josh in only his seventh game of rugby again showed he could be a useful acquisition but would benefit from a stint in the Mavs to learn but needs must.
Diffy Duck could only have one recipient this week, so I’ll take it on the chin and get the crate next week, I was asked to get involved again and help pull a side together each week, I’m now feeling under the same pressure as Ole Solskjaer, we’re trying our best but it’s not happening. Going through a Transition they call it.
Thanks to Widnes for the game and the steak butties, well worth the trip.
Keep the faith boys, me, Wellsy and Toby love you.
Mother Duck.
