On a grey, cold and wet Saturday afternoon at Eastham yesterday, the Ducks showed that if you invest money into the right players, the points will take care of themselves. In days gone bye under my astute mentor we had Tonga Wonga, yesterday the Duck Dough ensured us four points against Lymm. The one hundred and fifty pounds per man paid to each member of the squad was a snip, £2700 a week is cheap.
With no first team game yesterday I was given the whole squad to choose from and we fielded the strongest team we could, it was fitting that the only score of the game came from Kiwi Legend Lima Nonu.
Seriously though, with Glossop beating LSH yesterday the first team are very much in the promotion mix and it’s upto every member of the squad to push for a starting shirt, I would expect to see all of you down at training this week. One Team, One Dream, let’s finish the season with a bang.
Next week the Ducks are at Helsby, for Helsbys last game of the season, they are currently second in the division and I would expect them to be at full strength in their bid to secure promotion. Let’s try and upset the promotion party.
