The less said about Saturday the better, beaten by a better team, weren't up for it, couldn't be bothered, shouldn't have gone out Friday night, bottled it, all true to an extent. Fair play to Prenton, whoever has recruited this band of players since the last time we played them deserves a massive pat on the back from their club. A group of young lads from Chester Uni who all really enjoyed themselves at our expense. Some of our lads need to take a good look at themselves after Saturday, they let themselves down, their teammates down and also let me and Alan down. I can accept getting beaten, what really grates with me and Alan is that some of you gave up and didn't seem really arsed. Harsh I can hear people saying but the truth hurts, we've put ourselves in a great position and feel we only have to turn up and teams will roll over, it doesn't happen like that.
RANT OVER
A big thank you for Saturday to Craig Brookes and Graham Keen stepping up from the Mavs, both playing a full game and battling to the end. Steve Hearn rolled back the years, Liam McGowan had another good game.
Now there are HOSPITAL Passes and there are HOSPITAL Passes, and our fly half certainly threw one, Theo caught it and you can see from the picture the result, Prenton's player came off worse, after a thoroughly depressing game, three hours in Arrowe Park wasn't my idea of a good way to spend my day. On the upside my good lady had turned up to watch the game and five minutes later she's driving the victim to Arrowe (she didn't miss much). Picture it, just met Theo, take him to casualty, now the nurse starts to ask Theo where he is, poor lads not got a clue, comes from Llandudno, living in Liverpool, the only place he knows on the Wirral is the club, nurse starts thinking Theo's got a serious concussion, Sue now has to explain, he's okay, just really doesn't where he's been brought too.
A footnote next time anyone sees Theo, the Brook Clinic isn't the place to get your stitches out, although as a student he may need their help before he finishes his Uni course.
No Duck of the Day, Diffy Duck too many to choose from.
Coach trip to St.Marys next up for the title decider, everyone welcome, lets hope we can get a win and finish the season top. We will need to improve but lads that up to you.
Sick as Duck.
