For the first game of the New Year we welcomed New Brighton 3s to the Duck Pond, everyone watching the game could be excused for being star struck, playing for the Ducks was non other than Cam Kardasian, too many doughnuts over Christmas and a pair of shorts he must have had since Redcourt did nothing to hide the size of his backside, no wonder he's now hammering the gym with Brookesy and Tom, he needs too.
The game was special for the return of the Wendal, someone has removed that thumb off the top of his head, it's been on there that long he's started going bald on top, (sorry he's had man flu, no, no he's been injured) great to see you back son, although my pocket will now be lighter buying his beer each week.
A good all round performance by the lads, seven tries scored, non conceded isn't a bad return to action, Ollie Loveday's sin binning (bully that he is) being one of the few downsides, typical derby match, feisty, no quarter asked, no quarter given.
As Captain Armstrong said at the end of the game " we've got our heads above the parapet, we're there to be shot at, we're the team everyone wants to beat and it won't alter until we get beat, long may it continue."
The lads are playing for each other, they don't want to concede a try and everybody wants to be a Duck.
Mother Duck.
