This was a game that would make or break our Festive Period, fortunately our Christmas came early, we now sit top of the division having won thirteen from thirteen, and on top of that two cup wins to boot. The Boys can only beat whats put in front of them and if they are successful and get promoted then next seasons challenges will no doubt be harder.
Our destiny is in our own hands as they say, what we now need to ensure is that we don't let all our good work of the early part of the season to amount to nothing. Alan and myself stated at the start of the season, we would do everything we could to get a full side each week, it's been hard as some of you will be aware of, but we seem to have managed. We don't all pull in the same direction at times, we don't all see eye to eye most of the time, we do have an absolute hoot, everyone is a target, nothing's sacred and when you're down you get kicked, victims are us.
I love Rugby League, St. Helens is my team having worked there for four years, I only wish the rugby league contingent at LSH appreciated our game. LSH were beaten on the day by a better team, younger, fitter and desperate to win. The rugby union lads commented on the quality in our side at the end of the game. That was the highlight of the game apart from the win.
We aren't top of the division because I'm a cheat, and I don't appreciate people inferring I'm one, we're actually quite a useful team. Rant over
