Anyone reading yesterday's team sheet, would have been forgiven for thinking the Berlin Wall was still standing, memories of Anselmian Greats of yesteryear. Campbell, Neville, Burnett, Thornton and Hearn, some sons of, others sharing a name and of course the Legend that is Steve Hearn. The man doesn't have the legs anymore, the young lads do it for him these days and are glad too, he is that steadying influence when playing against more experienced players, like LSH yesterday.
Yesterday's game doubled up as both a league game and the opening round of the cup so great to get the win.
Last September we travelled to LSH to play the same opposition and got taught a lesson, what a difference twelve months make and having a full team.
A great team performance yesterday, 8 try's, 8 different try scorers, Wellsy controlling the backs, Toby guiding the forwards, Graham Keen massive 80 minutes at the coal face (cheers mate).
No one was really outstanding, just a superb team effort against a much bigger side, special mention to 'Duck of the Day' Matt Thornton, great game last week and an even better one this week, pity you're back to Uni now, you'll be missed, roll on Christmas.
I can't finish without mentioning 'Divvy Duck' or Dom Nev, a man that can bomb chances, passing practice Tuesday at the club matey.
Still 50 points to 5 can't complain at that, two derbies in the next two weeks, tough games but this is what you play for.
Neil or Mother Duck as I've been christened.
