The Mavericks (3rd XV) had a comprehensive win down the A41 at Port Sunlight last Saturday, the “Availability Gods” Shon on Tim Woodward last week a full squad to choose from. No one should be under any illusions about how difficult it is to run the lowest team in the club in this day & age. It would make everyone’s lives a lot easier if players kept the team managers & coaches updated regarding their availability. We hold sponsors / members lunches prior to every 1st team home game, the lunches are open to ALL club members, 1pm onwards.
If you would like to attend the lunch before this coming Saturday’s game against De La Salle please contact Geoff Smith: 07720 459335 or geoffreysmith@sky.com ASAP to confirm you wish to attend, the lunch is £15 per head.
Post-Match Raffle
Anyone who has attended first XV home games in recent years will remember been accosted after the game by the late David Wilde and being politely encouraged to buy a raffle ticket, first prize usually a bottle of Jameson’s Irish whiskey.
Hail, rain or shine Dave ran his post-match raffle and raised substantial funds for the club, club secretary Trevor Petterson has volunteered to take over Dave Wilde’s mantle and run a raffle after every first XV home game. Trevor is asking members to “Donate a bottle”, whilst playing at Vauxhall’s our only sources of income are membership subscriptions & any money we can raise from sponsorship SO every penny helps.
