The 1st team played their penultimate league match on 28th April when they deservedly beat division champions Broughton Park 13 – 8 in a very high quality game. They have one league match left the much postponed trip to Leigh which will take place next Saturday 12th May with a 2pm kick off at Leigh.
The first team are currently in 2nd place in South Lancs / Cheshire 1 on 92 points Glossop are 3rd on 90 they play Tyldesley at home also next Saturday, beat Leigh away and the 1st team will be in the playoff for promotion to North 1 West no matter what Glossop do.
The 1st team will no doubt go to Leigh in confident mood given their recent good form but there must be no complacency they must be at their best to ensure a place in the playoff the following Saturday against Aspatria.
The reason for a playoff is that North 1 West is fed by two divisions North Lancs / Cumbria & South Lancs / Cheshire 1, the champions of the two divisions, De La Salle & Broughton Park, are automatically promoted and the second placed teams from the two divisions playoff for the third promotion spot.
The Crusaders (2nd XV) who were promoted at the end of the previous season finished a very creditable 7th in Division 3 South a testament to the hard work of both the players and team manager Neil Redfearn and assistant Alan Dear.
The Mavericks (3rd XV) also finished in 7th place in their division 5 West, considering they had a full fixture list this season with very few blanks to go through the campaign with only two matches conceded in the entire season is a great effort well done to team manager Tim Woodward and his players.

The club would like to get members and supporters to use the club website more as a source of information and communication and to increase our site rankings.
There has been much more activity in recent weeks and we are trying to populate the site with more information, progressively, to increase visits to the site.
The club would encourage everyone to register with the site, listing as much information as they are comfortable with; email address, phone, biogs for players etc., etc. and persuade them to log on frequently.
The more information members and prospective members are able to access, the more attractive we become as a club and the more loyalty we attract in turn.
Please log onto the club website, link below and register as a member or supporter.
Visit the club website for match reports www.anselmiansrufc.com
We are now almost at the end of the season and there are some members who have still NOT signed a direct debit for their annual subscriptions, there is NO excuse for not paying your subs.
Running a club like ours incurs substantial costs and year on year those costs increase, membership subscriptions are vital to the financial well-being of the club, if you haven’t paid your “subs” as yet NOW is the time. You can download a direct debit form from the website documents section. Please fill one in and pass it onto to your team manager or post it to the Membership Secretary at: 18 Greenbank Drive, Pensby, Wirral CH61 5UF.
If you would prefer to pay in full you can make a “one off” payment by cash or cheque via the club bar, if you take this option please tell the bar staff to “key” the payment in as Annual Subs.
The date of the AGM has be set for Friday 8th June at the club 7.30pm start, agenda & further details to follow.

We also have a vacancy for a Commercial Manager another vital post as we approach the redevelopment of the ground and building of a new clubhouse.
If you feel you have the talents and time to take on any of these very important posts please get in touch.
