Wirral Gulls 46 - 10 Anselmians

Two trys from Matt Bowden was sadly not enough for a vastly depleted Colts team against a well resourced amalgamation of Wirral and Hoylake.

Missing 8 players through injury and unavailability this was always going to be a tough ask. However, the spirit built this season saw the Saints compete for 55 minutes.

A 17-5 half time deficit, with a well worked blind side try for Bowden, was testimony to their effort and it looked like the second half could offer some promise. Unfortunately, 2 early scores for the hosts took the game away from the spirited Saints.

Another fine solo effort from Bowden from 30 metres out gave some brief hope with the score at 27-10.

But it was always going to be difficult as the Wirral Gulls were able to rotate their 20 man squad against a tiring Anselmians XV.

The score ended up blowing out but it was no reflection on the effort the lads put in.
