Anselmians is a community-based rugby club serving the Wirral and wider environs. We are a fully-inclusive organisation offering playing, coaching and social facilities to young men and women of all ages and abilities.

Established in 1947 as Old Anselmians, we have entered an exciting new epoque in our history. In a unique and innovative collaboration with Wirral Borough Council we have developed a new clubhouse and playing facilities to rival any other in the North of England

Eastham Pavilion fulfils a dual role as rugby clubhouse and standalone event facility with capacity to host over 200 people.

Success continued on field with a 1st XV Cheshire Cup run to the final in 2020/21 and promotion secured at the end of the 2021/22 season to Regional 1 North West (tier 5 of the English rugby pyramid). Anselmians 2nd XV and 3rd XV ('Mavericks') have also enjoyed league successes in recent years earning promotion through the NOWIRUL Leagues structure. The colts, minis and juniors are thriving and will doubtless add to the history of the club in the fullness of time.

Ambitious plans are in place for further success but Anselmians ethos remains unchanged and continues to be a friendly and forward thinking club true to the vision of those young men who began it with the simple wish “to play rugby with a smile.”
