New recruit for Ground Force Team

The new pitches at Malone Field are developing quickly. The rain and humid conditions which have plagued our summer, thusfar, are pushing up the new grass, quickly.

There is much to do for the tractor boys; from nursing the new pitches into peak condition for the start of the 2020-2021 season when we return "home" from Riveacre Park, to cutting back the perimeters and maintaining our boundaries. So, new recruits are always welcome to join head groundsman, "farmer," Taffy Jones and his team of superannuated amateur agronomists.

The latest recruit is Graham Money, a recently retired PE teacher at Wirral Grammar and frequent visitor to Anselmians Rugby. He has already been trained in cutting grass and has been let loose on the tractor to mow the training and No.2 pitches. He has yet to graduate to Taffy's hallowed No.1 pitch. For this he will have to compete with head grass-cutter, "Utterly" Buttery and his acolyte, "Toffee" Thornton.
