Yesterday we received the very sad news that club stalwart Ivor Woolcock had passed away at the weekend.

Ivor joined the club in the 1980’s as a social member having never played rugby. Ivor was born with only one arm but never allowed his handicap to affect his work or social life.

During his time in the club he served firstly as 3rd team manager then 2nd team manager, disciplinary secretary and finally as Vice Chairman of the club.

He put his heart and soul into the club and worked tirelessly to make the teams he ran, and the club as a whole, successful.

He was one of only four club members to be granted life membership for outstanding service to the club.

Ivor was a genuinely nice man, always good company, would do anything he could to help others. He will be greatly missed by both his family and many friends.
