Coach McGovern Announces Strong Team For The League Opener

League Debuts for Otutaha and Manger

A near full-strength side away at Manchester

Liam, "The Guv," McGovern has put a strong team together, despite the absence of several squad members, for this intriguing contest between two of the teams revisiting level 7 after short spells in the higher, NW1, division.

Both teams are ambitious and have made squad changes in the hope of bouncing straight back up again. But, this will be a tough away-day for Saints.

Manchester have history on their side, but we will have the stronger mid-field. If our forwards can secure something close to parity, then our midfield trio of new recruits, 9, Pilgrim; 10, McGovern and 12, Otutaha, should be able to unlock even the sternest of defences.

Otutaha is making his league debut and the travelling supporters will be eagerly looking forward to him matching his reputation as a straight-running, hard-tackling "hit-man". He did play at 13 in the warm-up against Llandudno, but, he will have more impact closer to the ball on Saturday.

A young "star in the making," George Manger, is also set to make his league debut from the bench. George was the 9 in a very successful Wirral GS team, last season, and he has a great future ahead of him. He impressed as a late sub at 9, last week, in the Cup game at Wilmslow.
