Anselmians U10 vs. Birkenhead Park U10

Anselmians were pleased to welcome Birkenhead Park U10s team to Malone Field on Sunday. This was Park’s first ever competitive fixture and they acquitted themselves extremely well. All the boys were a credit to themselves and Park.

Due to Saints superior experience they were able to dominate the game but whenever Park had the ball they always proved dangerous.

The game was played over 4 quarters and Saints scored freely in the first three sections. The final quarter was much closer and Park scored a well deserved try, Saints however finished the stronger and deservedly won.

Credit must go to Owen, Jack and Sam who all scored a brace of tries. Ieuan was outstanding throughout and some of his recycling and support play was excellent. Charlie and Liam were impressive in attack and Thomas provided the moment of the match with a superb covering tackle. As ever Joe and Matthew were formidable in the loose and both made numerous breaks. Michael and Rory on the wings were always dangerous going forward and Rory certainly relished getting stuck into Park’s big forwards. There was another cameo from Isabel you certainly enjoyed her couple of tries. Ewan was effective in attack and scored his fair share of tries.

All the boys and girls played well and some of then support and recycling was certainly to be commended.
