A brave display by the Saints on the road, but Ruthin show the their class in a great day of all round rugby both on and off the pitch

The Saints boys did well in a game over two halves with the team seeing a number of changes throughout..

Unfortunately we lost both "halfs" with a final score line 43 17, Ruthin were the better team on the day and the scoreline reflected this fact. "To know how to win like a champion you gotta know how to lose like one" and over this season both Saints and Ruthin have shown they can play great rugby but come win or lose they conduct themselves like champions, using defeat as a lesson and treating victory as a stepping stone to better performances against other teams .

Ruthin played realy well throughout but we came back strong with two great trys towards the end, showing the Sainst spirit was strong.

Good turnout with 20+ Saints lads turned up with all playing a full part with us rotating the squad around throughout both games.

Morty scored first half after a strong run and great off load by Alex, a great support run by Will made the hours of training all worthwhile. Amazingly Chuck Norris converted to the surprise of the crowd, and given his kick accuracy at training on Tues night, prob himself!

Sam O finished off a great forwards move with a skillful try in the second half. Alex back on form blamed the wind for his missed conversion (come back Mossey we have not hit the post/cross bar for over a month now).

Alex scored a great final try ran half the pitch, taking on the Ruthin defenders with pace and power, he ran in close to the corner.

Lewis played well on his debut and the boys stuck to the task well, against a Ruthin side full of fire and impressive runners.

Ruthin played some lovely rugby moved the ball wide well and scored some great trys - well done to their two makeshift 2nd rows who were really flankers but got in the engine room for the day..

Iwan, Kyle and Ruthins supporters where great hosts, we look forward to meeting them again soon.

Quote of the week

"you aren't finished when you lose... you are finished when you quit." the Saints boys never gave up today and we will be working hard on Tues night at training, with half term over we would like all the boys who want to put their hands up for a shot in the Cheshire Plate Final match 22 down staking a claim, the competition for positions is hot and we will be taking a good look at all positions in the next few weeks...game on....
