With half term causing chaos to selection, coaches and refs availability Chris led a merry band of 20 odd saints over to Wilmslow. The welcome from the Wolves was great both on and on the pitch.
Wilmslow were slightly short on numbers and short of a ref, so thanks to Sam S, Andy P, Morty & Matt G for stepping into the breach which meant game on. Thanks to Damian for officiating over a well matched game.
Wilmsolw were excellent hosts as usual. The final score was 54-43 in Anselmians favour, but it was an end to end game and the score differential only really came in the last 4-5 mins through the Alex centre partnership. All the boys contributed and showed that we have a great squad in numbers. Sam S and Andy P played the first two thirds for our oppositon which really gave the forwards a test, but in true team spirit they came through. For the last third Morty & Matt G played for Wimslow, all twentyone players got as much game time as possible. It's difficult to mention any particular players in such a good team performance, but Rory crossed over to score which may have been his first try (not sure on that one - but sure he will clue us in at training). Sean took a knock to the head and battled on for a while before having to be replaced as an egg started to come up on his head and it's not even Easter yet. Pete had to play wearing my boots as he had accidently left his on the front door step, I have to say he made far better use of them than I do thse days.
Regards
Chris
