This Saturday we visit Del La Salle in Salford. Last season "Della" had similar problems to ourselves in adjusting to the pace and intensity of Level Six. We won three games all term and De La Salle won two, one of which was against Saints at Rivacre Road. Della arrived in February and were victorious 17-24 to avenge a home loss, 13-19, to Saints the previous October.
The Lancaster Road outfit are a community club and, as well as rugby, they have soccer and bowling sections. Their recently refurbished clubhouse is testimony to their determination and ambition.
This term, Della won their first game 26-36 away at Tarleton, but lost their first home match to Winnington Park 13-20. Last weekend they trekked up to Aspatria and lost 40-22 to the Cumbrian club. They are currently ninth.
Anselmians expect a close fought contest, but will draw confidence from their second half performance against Bolton when they scored 32 points without reply. Head coach McGovern will want to play the fast, open game which was so successful last weekend.
