On a sunny Saturday afternoon the first team achieved their dream of promotion to North 1 West yesterday in the final match at Malone Field before the redevelopment of the ground.

Aspatria started strongly scoring two good tries in the first 10 minutes leaving the home supporters wondering if all the season’s hard work was going to be of no avail.

Once the team shook of their early nerves they started to dominate the game and went on to score 65 unanswered points by the end of the match Aspatria were a well beaten team.

Next season whilst the new clubhouse is being built and new pitches laid the senior teams will be playing at Vauxhall’s Sports & Social club which is only a mile or so from Malone Field.
