New recruits add to the strength in depth of our talented squad

Saints' success last season, gaining promotion to level 6, and our ambitions for an exciting future with the development of our new clubhouse and grounds has attracted interest of many players of the region. In particular, new recruits to the club include these seven talented players all with experience at higher level rugby.

In order of signing:

Danny Salisbury-Danny joins us from Caldy where he has played many games at levels 3 and 4 as support hooker, his specialist position, although he comfortable performing across the front row. He is an abrasive competitor but, we are assured, has a very cultured line-out throwing arm.
Paul Sellwood - "The Seagull" is a potent strike attacker with a hat-full of first team tries for Caldy before injury interrupted his season. Now back to full fitness, he will become a favourite with the Saints supporters with his rapid, incisive breaks from wing or full-back.
Liam Isaacs - A talented scrum-half, Liam joins us from Caldy. Liam is also at home at 10 and is an accomplished goal-kicker. He was described by one Caldy pundit as, "The player they will miss the most!"
Louis McGowan - A seasoned campaigner with vast experience at level 2 and level3 with stints at Sedgley Park, Coventry, Rotherham and, latterly, Caldy. Louis is a massive presence in the second row. He is a natural leader and our young forwards will grow in strength and ability under his influence.
Matty DowlerA robust back-rower and a natural at both 6 and 8. A product of Caldy juniors, he spent last season with Wirral before being impressed enough by Saints performances to want to be part of our continuing success. He has represented Cheshire at 18's and 20's age grades.
Declan McClementsDec is a seasoned front-row forward from Northern Ireland. He hails from Cookes, Belfast, before transferring to Caldy. A big unit, he will add power to the pack and joins an increasingly impressive Saints "front row union".
Josh SteadMPhil, MBCHBFoundation Doctor Wirral University Teaching Hospital(Useful to have one of these on the squad - Ed)Rugby career: Oldershaw, Wirral, Liverpool University.

This "Magnificent Seven" joins our current squad of talented players, all vying for a place in the "elite" group of 30 or so who will appear for the first team this coming season.

Make sure you get down to Rivacre Road to see what will surely be a big step up this season.
