GREAT TIME TO BE A SAINT AT ANSELMIANS RUGBY CLUB

What a great time to be a Saint at Anselmians RUFC

The last couple of weeks have been an enormous success for the Club starting with the Cheshire U13`s Final Day on 6th May hosting 6 Finals with Clubs from across the County. The day was a huge success and a big thanks to all volunteers and helpers on what was a scorching day. The day had its crowning glory with Chris Wells’ & Leigh Paul`s U13`s winning the Final of the Vase in great style. Well done boys.

Continuing the celebrations brought on the annual Club awards and the 70th Anniversary with a Gala Night at St Anselms College on 12th May. Another great event for all Anselmians with awards presented by the legend that is 103 capped NZ centre back Ma`a Allan Nonu (brother of our own superstar "Lima")
Congratulations to all winners and none more so than Sam & Andy O`Connor the Rose Bowl winners.

No let up on celebratory events with the M & J Awards day held at the seniors new stomping ground for next season Vauxhall Sports and Social Club. The awards were presented by 1st XV players Tulima Nonu and Liam Sadler and a big thanks to them.
Each young player received an Anselmian thank you medal for all their hard work, team spirit, dedication and respect and most of all their enjoyment of the game. Well done to every single player and each one looked so proud. Great to see and this is our next generation of 1st teamers so we intend to give each player all the help we can to achieve their aims both on and off the field.

The icing on the celebrations came on Saturday 19th May with the 1st team playoff game v Aspatria(Cumbria) in which the 1sts despite a few heart murmurs from the massive crowd (10 minutes 14 points down) they showed great spirit determination and some brilliant rugby ran out 65 - 14 winners giving promotion to the N1W league next season. Great season and well done to all the senior players, Skinny, Jamie Andy P, Andy O, Neil Redfearn, Alan Dear, Tim Woodward.
We now move on and up to a new season in September, Clubhouse and pitches in 2019 and recruitment of new players starts now!!
