In our first warm-up game, we take on a strong Mold team to test the effectiveness of the squad's pre-season training and we get the chance to assess some of our exciting new signings. With several key players unavailable, several of our extended squad players will get their chance to stake a claim for a shirt for the Cheshire Vase game at Northwich, next week.

Watch out for our new recruits, among them veteran campaigner, Louis McGowan, a secondrow expert who has been re-organising the lineout at training. We now expect this to be a big weapon for us with three top quality operators, there, in Louis himself, Niall Cavanagh and rising star, Will Grabe.

Behind the pack, half backs, Josh Stead and Liam Isaacs have the spark to light fires under opponents and several other newbies will also be showing off their skills.

The key to success, this coming season, will be how well the new recruits gel with our existing talented group of players which won us promotion, last season. So far, the signs are excellent!

There is a second warm-up game at Riveacre Park on Tuesday, 21 August, versus Collegiate. K.O. 7pm. Then we take on Northwich in back-to-back games in the cup and league on Saturday 25 August, away, and Saturday 1 September, home, respectively. Both games kick off at 3pm.
